The Lake Norman Big Band is the premier big band in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area. We are an official 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable musical arts group formed by all volunteer musicians. The Lake Norman Big Band takes the stage with 19 members and performs the full spectrum of jazz music from the 1920's to present day. We play everything from Dixieland, swing, bebop, Latin, jazz-rock fusion and pop. The group is comprised of 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxophones (2 alto, 2 tenor & baritone), a rhythm section (piano, guitar, bass guitar, drums & percussion) and a vocalist.
The Lake Norman Big Band is actively seeking performance engagements. We currently play regularly on the fouth Monday of every month at Midtown Sundries in Cornelius. We have also performed for charities, churches, non-profit organizations, clubs, fund raisers, veteran’s groups, corporate celebrations, birthdays, weddings, etc. We can play in a concert setting or dinner/dance venue.
